| Press release: Tivoli kitchen - April 2008 |
True to their philosophy of creating complete lifestyle solutions of great design pedigree, French specialist Hardy Inside offer their Tivoli concept as a holistic and seamless blend of living space between the kitchen and dining room so that the homeowners can spend as much quality time with guests.
With superb use of the perfectly matching range of colours and patterns in various materials available to Hardy Inside designers, Tivoli draws on laminates, matt veneers, aluminium and lacquered glass to create a combination of sympathetic effects that blend seamlessly to create subtle visual effects that draw the eye through the rooms and still offer brilliant practical benefits.
In the featured design the kitchen’s focal point are the double, parallel island units which are formed into a U-section with the addition of a split level snack bar. In this waythe person preparing and serving food can interact with guests (without turning his back at his guests) and look out through a Hardy Inside inspired square arch into the dining room beyond. One side of the island isdesigned for food preparation and cleaning , the other site is dedicated to
cooking.
Both island units stand on bold aluminium plinths and the doors, drawerfronts and end panels are in matching fine line sepia brown oak veneer with delicate aluminium framand sleek horizontal handles. Theworktop surrounding the sink and serving the snack bar is in brown matching laminate while the rear island unit which houses the hob has a matching lacquered glass top. Above the hob is a ceiling-suspended extracunit, with intergrated LED lighting. The Bruno Houssin lights, designed for Hardy Inside, are elegant plexiglas and LED units which hang down at three points above the snack bar.
The full height kitchen wall units are contained behind dual-acting sliding doors with the same veneer finish. Once opened thedoors expose a large fridge freezer along witwide shelves and full extension inner drawfor the storage of utensils and smaller, acelectrical appliances. On one side of the fridge freezer is space for wicker baskets, glass shelves for glasses and other clever
storage, on the other side there are plugs for electrical appliances. The slidingdoors can overlap so that two areas can be exposed simultaneously if needed. When the doors are opened LED lights illuminate automatically the interior of the wall units.
The eye-catching through-arch into the dining room is made from matching veneer and leads through to the dining room with a full height wall unit thatmatches the style of the island units in the kitchen and features full-length doors in Cappuccino lacquered glass to expose wide glass shelf and pull-out storage for crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. The main table is a Hardy Inside design with a bold aluminium frame and toughened glass top. More Bruno Houssin LED plexiglass shelf lights are suspended above. The button switch allows the user to choose the colour to match their mood (3 adjustable colours blue, red, amber or the three mixed together) Stylish Perspex chairs add to the experience.
Finally, the dining area contains a stylish lacquered glass topped sideboard, which reflects the island units in the kitchen. This completes the truly holistic and stunningeffect of the entire living space - a total hardy inside experience.
